Academia and Work-Family Balance: Imagine the Possibilities
Panel Discussion (Penn State)
As part of our ongoing career planning discussions, join us for some straight talk on balancing work and family at various stages of the academic life cycle. In this interactive session, we will field your questions on the joys and challenges of balancing families and science careers. Our goal is to share strategies, decision points and some thoughtful reflection on work-family issues you may confront as you move through the academic ranks at an R1 university. All graduate students and post-doctoral fellows are welcome!
Panel: Ann ‘Nan’ Crouter, Ph.D., Dean, College of Health and Human Development
Kevin Harvatine, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Animal Science
James Pawelczyk, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Physiology and Kinesiology
Rebecca Mallinson, Ph.D., Post-doctoral fellow, Department of Kinesiology
Moderated by Donna Korzick, Ph.D., Chair, Intercollege Program in Physiology
Format: Please start thinking about questions you would like answered. Written questions will be solicited from the audience anonymously for the panel to address with ample time for follow-up and discussion.
This event is sponsored by the Intercollege Program in Physiology and the Department of Kinesiology's NIH Predoctoral T32 Training Program.
