The Huck Institutes Travel Award Fund is intended to provide doctoral students of the Huck Institutes with greater experience and networking opportunities by attending scientific meetings and to help elevate the profile of our graduate programs by supporting more students to present their research. Specifically, this fund provides travel support to Huck doctoral candidates that are post comp and presenting at a domestic or international conference.
IDGP chairs can choose to provide travel support for post-comprehensive students with an accepted abstract or invitation to speak at a national or international meeting. This support can be provided up to two times for each post-comprehensive doctoral student (only one time per fiscal year per student). Maximum awards are $750 for domestic travel and $1500 for international travel. Decisions to support travel must be communicated well in advance to Dana in Grad Ed.
Huck graduate students that have completed their comprehensive exams. Students are only eligible to receive the award twice during their career at Penn State but ONLY once per fiscal year (July - June). It is required that students must apply for the funds PRIOR to the travel in order to be reimbursed.
All student applicants must submit a request form https://home.huck.psu.edu/forms/on-line-travel-stipend-request-form. The form will be sent to their respective program chairs for review and approval. If the student is approved then the student will receive an electronic approval.
