Joint lab with Chinese university

Penn State and the South China Agricultural University have established a joint laboratory in root biology. The lab will focus on understanding the molecular biology, breeding, physiology and agroecology of root traits that are important to plants.

Penn State and the South China Agricultural University (SCAU) have established a joint laboratory for research and training in root biology.

This lab builds on 25 years of successful collaboration between SCAU professor Xiaolong Yan and Penn State professor Jonathan Lynch, and 100 years of collaboration between Penn State and SCAU.

The lab will focus on understanding the molecular biology, breeding, physiology and agroecology of root traits that affect how plants acquire water and nutrients.

More information about this collaboration, from a College of Agriculture news release.
